Welcome to the Primrose
Group website. The Primrose name has been synonymous with innovation
and excellence in engineering for over a hundred
years. In the early years of last century James Primrose was a
pioneer in the then new field of electrical engineering. He formed
the consulting engineering firm Ramsay and Primrose, which grew to
become one of Scotland's most prominent electrical and mechanical
practices during the 1960's and 70's under the leadership of his son Jim
Primrose "Junior."
Jim's two sons Harold and Robin both gained early
training in the firm, and while Harold moved on into the then pioneering
offshore oil industry in the North Sea in the 1970's, Robin remained
with the firm, becoming a director in the 1980's. Also in the
1980's, after a career with major international oil industry engineering
companies, Harold set up his own consultancy specialising in control and
instrumentation. In the 1990's Robin also formed
his own consultancy, specialising in lift engineering.
In 2002 the two brothers decided to join forces in
the Primrose Group, which now offers the best in innovative engineering
for the 21st century.
